ideal base for exploring lake windermere and local parks
I truly enjoyed my stay with great views of the lake and easy access to the beautiful grounds with paths alongside Lake Windermere, making it a perfect spot for walks and fresh air during my visit. As a solo traveler, I appreciated the friendly and welcoming staff who made me feel right at home while ensuring I had all the coffee and tea I needed in my lovely room.

Cragwood Country House is such a picturesque location. The views of Lake Windermere are breathtaking, especially from the patio where I spent many relaxing hours. The room was spacious and had all the essential amenities. The tea, coffee, and biscuits were a nice touch. the shower design in the Honeymoon Suite is a major issue. It completely flooded the bathroom, causing a lot of stress during our stay. The staff were friendly, but our breakfast service was really slow. It felt quite disorganized, likely due to being short-staffed. I enjoyed the meals in the bar. the fish and chips were the best I've had in the UK. One downside was the noise from a group having drinks late at night right outside my room. It disturbed my sleep. The dog-friendly policy is great, but the lack of outdoor lighting for nighttime bathroom breaks for pets is an oversight.

The food here was absolutely delicious, and we really enjoyed the beautiful garden area to unwind after a long day. The sun terrace was also a lovely spot to soak up some rays. The only downside was that our room felt a bit worn out, but it didn't stop us from having a great time! 😊

Had an amazing weekend with friends! We spent our days enjoying the stunning views and exploring nearby attractions. The outdoor patio was perfect for chilling after visiting the beautiful gardens. Don't miss the breakfast. it's a real treat! Would definitely recommend staying longer to soak it all in.
One downside was the wait for service during a busy dinner. it was stretched a bit thin with all the events happening.

We had the best time at this beautiful spot! The grounds were super peaceful, and our room led right to a lovely garden area. Dinner was on point, and breakfast was delicious too. Staff were so friendly and helped us with everything. One thing tho, parking was a bit cramped. But totally worth it for the views!
